Staveley is a small town located 3 miles to the North East of Chesterfield in Derbyshire. Staveley Hall, with its origins in the 12th century, is steeped in history. Today it is the home of Staveley Town Council and also Staveley History Society. This website is an historical community resource, documenting the researches of Staveley History Society and the unfolding mystery of Staveley Hall and its past.
Thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding for the Heart of Staveley Project, Staveley History Society recently commissioned a 3D laser survey of Staveley Hall. Using this data and archaeological and historical information, a computer model has been created which gives the most vivid impression seen yet of the scale and grandeur of Staveley Hall as it was in the 17th Century.
